ALTARS

NA2, in sisso wood

Altars or shrines were an essential apparatus for Tibetan Buddhists both in the monasteries and in the homes. Nowadays, it is not always possible to have a "puja room", or a room devoted only to one's practice, decorated with altars for the statues and thankhas. Using traditional Tibetan motifs, we have designed several simple, small altars, usually for a single statue or photo, that can be placed in any room in the house.
