| DETAIL OF KYUNG BUR FRAMES | |||
This type of decoration is typically found on Tibetan painted furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries. The dots and outlines are executed in raised gesso, know as kyung bur in Tibetan, and then gilded. The skill lies in the mixing the right constituency of the gesso: too thick and it will crack, to runny and it won't stay in place and so on. KFK1 has an antique finish and KFK2 a regular finish.
